A watermark is a notice, not protection
Said before you stamp anything: a watermark is ordinary page content. It declares intent — this is a draft; this copy belongs to Chen — and honest recipients will honor it. It does not prevent copying, and anyone with a PDF editor can remove it. If you need a document that can't leak, control who receives it; no stamp does that job.
What you control
Your text, its size, angle, and opacity, applied identically across the pages you choose. The stamp is placed as page content — visible in every viewer and on paper.
Questions people actually ask
- Does a watermark stop people copying my PDF?
- No. A watermark is a visible notice riding on ordinary page content — it communicates; it does not enforce. Preventing copies would take control of the reader’s software, and no stamp on a page has that.
- Can I watermark only some pages?
- Yes — all pages or a chosen range.
- Is my file uploaded?
- No. Stamping happens in your browser.
